Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Apercept collects when you use it, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We've written it in plain language on purpose — you shouldn't need a law degree to understand how your data is handled.

Introduction

Apercept is a conversational AI interface. When you use it, you share things with us — questions you ask, files you attach, and basic technical details about how you reached the service. This document describes how we handle all of that.

By using Apercept, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

Information you provide. When you create an account, we collect your email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier and email. When you use the product, we collect the messages, prompts, and files you submit.

Conversation content. Your messages and the model's responses are processed and stored so we can provide the service and keep your conversation history available to you.

Usage data. We record basic technical information — such as page views, feature interactions, device type, browser, approximate region derived from your IP address, and error logs — to keep the service reliable.

Cookies and local storage. We use your browser's local storage to remember your theme preference, language selection, and whether you've already used a free question. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your conversations to train our own models.

How we share information

We share information with a small number of service providers, only to the extent necessary to operate Apercept:

We may also disclose information if required by law, in response to a valid legal request, or when necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Apercept, our users, or the public.

Data retention

We retain your account information and conversation history for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your data, except where we're required by law to retain certain records.

Security

We use encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, and access controls to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute safety — but we take reasonable measures and review them regularly.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

To exercise any of these, get in touch with us. We'll respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

Children

Apercept is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please let us know and we will delete it.

International data transfers

We may process information outside the country where you live, including in the United States. When we do, we take steps to ensure your information receives protection consistent with this policy and applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll post a notice on the site. The current version will always be available on this page.
